ABIGAIL BARNES, B.A.

SCIENCE BIOGRAPHY

I’m a M.S.-SLP candidate with an expected graduation of May 2024! My clinical interests are in the speech and language of individuals with traumatic brain injury. I bring a passion for phonetic transcription of speech from studying multiple languages. My clinical experience is in evaluating and treating preschool and elementary school speech, language, and reading delays. In the lab, I work with PhD candidate Sharice Clough, who studies the interaction between memory and gestures in populations with brain injury with the goal of improving outcomes for these populations.

NON-SCIENCE BIOGRAPHY

I grew up in Northern Virginia and got my B.A. at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. I worked in the International Relations field in the D.C. area prior to coming to Vanderbilt! I love baking, good conversations with friends, and music.
