SEEKING RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS
WITH A HISTORY OF TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY
Researchers Vanderbilt University Medical Center are conducting a study on outcomes following traumatic brain injury.
We are currently inviting participants who meet the following criteria:
-
18-55 years old
-
History of traumatic brain injury
To determine your eligibility, please fill out this online survey.
Participants may complete this study remotely, from their own homes, over a 15 day period. Your participation in the study would involve:
-
Completing some computer tasks online, while talking to an experimenter on Zoom. There will be 8 sessions during the 15-day period.
-
Wearing an activity monitor, which we will mail to you, on your wrist for the entire experiment period. This monitor is non-invasive and can be removed at any time. It records information about your sleep/rest and activity levels. We will ask you to wear it 24 hours a day during the experiment, then mail it back to us using pre-paid shipping materials after the 15-day period.
This is a scientific research study, and not part of routine medical care. There are no costs to participants for these research-related procedures.
Participants will be compensated $15/hour for active participation sessions (for the sessions with online computer tasks). Wearing the activity monitor is entirely voluntary, and participants will receive an additional $10 of compensation for every 24 hours the activity monitor is worn during the experiment period. Participants may earn up to $290 if they complete all components of the study.
We will contact you over the phone or email to let you know if you are eligible for the study and schedule your participation. We make every effort to schedule research-related visits at your convenience. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email us at DuffLab@VUMC.org.
